چکیده

Background Suppression Subtractive Hybridization (SSH) is an established method for separating DNA molecules that distinguish two closely related DNA samples, which has become a powerful method for generating subtracted cDNA libraries. In this study, we postulated that SSH could be used to identify significant genetic differences between Mycobacterium tuberculosis causing meningitis and M. tuberculosis causing pulmonary tuberculosis.

Identification of a repetitive sequence belonging to a PPE gene of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and its use in diagnosis of tuberculosis.

A repetitive sequence specific to Mycobacterium tuberculosis was isolated from a lambda gt11 library of M. tuberculosis by DNA-DNA hybridization using genomic DNA of M. tuberculosis as probe followed by subtractive hybridization with a cocktail of other mycobacterial DNA. This led to identification of CD192, a 1291 bp fragment of M. tuberculosis containing repetitive sequences, which produced p...

Interleukin-8 is differentially expressed by human-derived monocytic cell line U937 infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv and Mycobacterium marinum.

Although Mycobacterium marinum is closely related to Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv genomically, the clinical outcome in humans is quite different for M. marinum and M. tuberculosis infections. We investigated possible factors in the host macrophages for determining differential pathological responses to M. tuberculosis and M. marinum using an in vitro model of mycobacterial infection. Using ...

Characterization of Mutations in the Rpob and Katg Gene of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Isolates From Pasteur Institute of Tehran

Objective: The Rifampicin resistance and susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis are caused by mutations in the 81-base pair region of the rpoB gene encoding the b-subunit of RNA polymerase. Methods: Isoniazid resistance of M. tuberculosis is related to mutations in inha , oxyR and ahpC genes which 30 to 90 percent of Isoniazid resistance is occurred in 3015 codons of kat...

Genotyping of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Isolated from Suspected Patients in Tehran in 2015-2017

Background and Aims: Unlike many global efforts to eradicate tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium, it remains as a life-threatening infection with a worldwide incidence of 1.5 million cases each year. However, due to the lack of information about Mycobacterium tuberculosis characterization, more studies are required to evaluate strain diversity and epidemiology of tuberculosis to improve the th...
